Christmas Portraits

You may have noticed some things appearing in the shops over the past few weeks..things such as Christmas decorations!! What…already!!! Yep, I actually saw some in Myers in early September. In actual fact, as soon as Fathers day was over, out came the decorations. Most guys wait until Christmas Eve to grab their gift vouchers, so there’s still plenty of time!! Well that’s what we like to think anyway. Many of my clients have started their own Christmas tradition, being that they come in for their once a year Family portrait.   Every year, it becomes one huge rush to photograph the session, have a viewing and then have the portraits printed and framed in time for Christmas day. So this year, if you are a previous client, you will receive a little gift in your email over the coming weeks to beat the rush. If you haven’t experienced my services before, then don’t worry, there’s something exiting for you as well. So, if you are wanting Christmas portraits this year, keep an eye out on here, my Facebook page and my Google+ page or you can Contact the studio for more details. Just don’t delay it because before you know it, they’ll be playing Christmas carols all around Geelong!

Christmas Specials 2014

It’s Christmas Specials time!! Originally I had allocated 30 portrait sessions for the Christmas specials, but 11 were filled prior to the release, so only 19 spots remain. Once they’re taken, that’s it. I pride my studio on photographing quality over quantity. So, as part of the specials this year, you will receive a free sitting, free Christmas cards and a $50 voucher for you to give to someone as a present. In other words, not only will you be having your portraits taken, you’re doing your Christmas shopping at the same time!! Plus, one lucky family will win a 16×24″ wall portrait valued at $600 as part of their order. If that’s not the best deal in Geelong, then I don’t know what is! 😉 You can book in for a family portrait, newborn or child portraits, a maternity portrait or a glamour portrait. Please find all the details below and feel free to Contact the studio Here to make a booking or for any enquiries. If you have already booked a session prior to the specials, you will automatically receive them when you come in.  Like I said though, spots are limited and the special will end once all places are filled or on the 31st of December.  Don’t forget you can always join us on Facebook to stay up to date with all the happenings at the studio.

Christmas 2014 package pre-release

There’s always something magical in Geelong at Christmas time and this year is certainly no different. I have already had quite a few enquiries regarding Christmas family portrait packages. As with all my specials, there is only a limited quantity available. I pride my work on being available as a “Quality rather than quantity” product. So, this Christmas, there will only be thirty spots available. Four have already been taken prior to the release so I have decided to release ten more spots as a pre-release.

The portraits can be a family portrait, couple portrait, newborn or baby portrait or even a glamour portrait. Have you had a look at my fairy portrait collection?   As an added bonus this year, one lucky person will win a 16 x 24″  wall portrait to add to their order valued at $600.

Have your memories captured forever by Geelong’s most awarded portrait and wedding photographer.

Pre-release sessions will be available until the 21st of October or until all taken. Please contact Photography by Riccardo  by email to reserve your spot. Gift vouchers will also be available.

Something arty

If there’s one thing that I enjoy the most about photography is being able to just play and experiment. Digital technology has made it easy for anyone to be able to pick up a camera and take a decent photo. Only yesterday I was reading an article that asked why anyone would bother having a family portrait taken with a professional photographer when they could do it themselves these days.  The article actually even said that a “decent family portrait can be taken with your phone these days”. Really?? I must be missing something here because whenever I take a snap with my iPhone, I’m always disappointed with the quality. It always looks great on the screen, but have you ever tried printing a decent sized photo out of it?  So really, cameras are no different to what they were 20 years ago. Back then we had film and waited a couple of days to get our prints back, now we see it in an instant but essentially, all the camera does is record what we point it at. So, to get back on track, being able to experiment, not with the camera or photoshop, but with light, that’s where real photographers excel. Here’s a favourite image of mine. Simple, artistic and beautiful. Child photography, but with a sense of timeless art. This is what my clients love. Something that they can hang on their walls, not in their phones. I have been working on something that’s a little different and will be offering clients select art pieces shortly. These will be photographed exclusively in my studio or in select locations in and around Geelong. You can always see more wedding photos on my Facebook page, just click Here.

Weddings, Weddings, Weddings!

Well it certainly been an eventful week here at the studio. Firstly one of my images was named as Image of the day on a U.K Wedding Blog and today I found out that I came 11th overall in the Victorian Bridal Industry Awards. Add on top of that quite a few wedding enquiries,  a couple of family portrait and newborn baby portrait sessions and believe me, it’s never a dull moment around here! For those of you who may be interested, here’s the link to view the Image of the day: http://www.sparethedetails.co.uk/image-of-the-day-photography-by-riccardo/

As I mentioned, I’ve had quite a few wedding enquiries, most of them being for Summer 2013/14. Dates are booking out fast, so my best advice to couples is to contact the studio as soon as they have a wedding date. What a lot of couples don’t realise is that professional photographers, as a general rule, book about 12 months in advance, but use that as a guide, I have weddings booked up to November 2014 already! For anyone getting married this weekend, enjoy the weather! Who would’ve thought that only three weeks out from Winter we’d be enjoying 25 degree days! Great time to be out and about along the Geelong Foreshore!! Keep up to date with all my weddings on my Facebook page, Don’t forget, just click Here.
