Fathers Day Portraits

As promised in my earlier blog post, here is my fathers day portrait promotion. Normally, my promotions include extras that are added to each package. But this year, I’m doing things a little different. To take advantage of this promotion, you must book prior to the 6th of September. Every person that books prior to Fathers day will receive a $100 Gift Certificate to put towards any portrait products that I have available. You can upgrade your package, add extra prints or, as one family did this morning, have the Gift Certificate made out to a friend so that their friend can come in and experience a portrait session. I leave that totally up to you. I know a few of my regular clients have used this opportunity to book and then use the portraits as gifts for the grandparents. A lot of people tend to forget the grandparents and tend to give them gifts that never get used. I remember having a grandparent come in months ago wanting to look at their daughters family portrait session so they could order their own portraits!! (so keep that in mind!) So, how does the promotion work? Simply contact the studio, either by email or telephone, and book a session. Sessions are limited!! I like to personalise my portrait sessions, and this can’t be done if I have three or more in one day. In order to keep the session unique to your family, a maximum of two session times are available each day.  Generally, once I know the age and in some cases sleep patterns of the children involved, a time is then set. With the weather the way it is, if we are photographing a newborn baby, I would suggest we photograph in my  studio but, if the children are a bit older, you generally have the option to either have the session in the studio or at any location in and around Geelong. I have a list of popular locations so it’s just a matter of us organising a time and spot for it to be done.  If you are wanting the portraits back before fathers day, then book in a time as soon as possible so I can guarantee the portraits will be back on time. As with all my portraits now, as an added bonus, you automatically receive a lifetime warranty on all wall portraits.

You can contact or book your session by clicking Here

Newborn photography Geelong

Before I became a parent, I used to hear parents always comment on how quick their  newborn child had grown and how in a wink of an eye their baby was at school. My first thought was always, time doesn’t go any faster or any slower for anyone…so I don’t get it. Fast forward a few years and now I’m a parent as well and boy oh boy was I very wrong,  they do grow really quickly!! It feels like one minute you’re in the delivery room waiting for this new little baby to emerge and then you blink and they’re crawling and trying to walk and talk. So I made it a point when my daughter was born to photograph her every three months. Apart from the thousands of photos we’ve taken with our small camera and phone, every three months we bring her into the studio and do a portrait session with her. She made me work for it the very first time we did this, but now she enjoys it, it’s more like a game than a photo session. Ok, I totally understand, not everyone is going to want to have their child photographed every three months (mainly because any “spare” time that parents have involves trying to catch up on things!) But, considering how precious your little child is, taking four hours over the course of a year to have them photographed, isn’t a lot of time. I can guarantee it’ll be time well spent.  So drawing on inspiration from my daughter, I was able to create something that I think is pretty unique in Geelong. The ability to record a child’s life over a period of time. Being that every moment you have with your child is precious, what if you could pause a moment? Not literally of course (I wish I could though!!) but pause in the sense of being able to hold on to a memory that your child creates forever. So I came up with my Moment in Time sessions. This is something that you really need to see to fully understand how beautiful and precious it really is. Portraits and albums that capture your child in a very special and unique way. You are more than welcome to visit the studio to view these beautiful products (appointments advisable, you can click Here to make a time), but hopefully this short video clip can help explain what I mean. For those of you that aren’t aware, my albums are hand made in Italy by some very clever people who use some very beautiful materials to put the albums together. That’s even more reason to come in and have a look. And, if all that wasn’t enough, all my wall portraits now come with a lifetime guarantee. That means that even if you damage the portrait by accident, you’re covered! How many places offer that sort of guarantee??  I hope you enjoy viewing this video clip as much as I enjoyed capturing the special moments in this child’s life.

Remember, if you want to stay in touch with all that’s happening at the studio, you can join my Facebook page or simply click Here and fill out the form so I can email you when any specials are happening.

Newborn photography Geelong

This is one of my most favourite things to photograph, a newborn child in their fathers arms. I don’t think that first time parents realise how quickly children grow and change. I often get asked when the best time to photograph a newborn baby after birth is and I always give the parents this guideline, if you want the real newborn baby look, then try and get it within the first five days and certainly no later than two weeks after the birth. With some new mums now staying in hospital for the first five days, the best advice I can give you is to contact the studio at least two weeks prior to your due date so we can make arrangements for me to visit the hospital. There is so much happening in the days after the birth, that many parents that I talk to afterwards say that they would’ve loved to have had a photograph of their child, but simply forgot.  Photography by Riccardo is happy to schedule a hospital visit for you, so those first few days in your new babys life aren’t missed.  Plus, as an added bonus, newborn hospital visits at either the Geelong hospital or St. John of God hospital are free. You can also register yourself or a friend at my new Baby Club page on Facebook. Baby club allows you to send a gift certificate to a friend who is expecting a baby as a gift from you to have their portraits taken. Best of all, it doesn’t cost you a thing or the first $50 of the Gift Certificate! Simply fill in their details and we’ll send them a $50 gift certificate totally free, no catches or hidden costs. The certificate states that it is a gift from you and nowhere does it say that it’s a free service.  You can register yourself if you’re expecting as well and, if you have any questions, you can contact me Here. I have had people ask if they can send gift certificates of greater value and the answer is yes, you just need to contact the studio so that this can be arranged.

Geelong Newborn Portraits

One of the most amazing things I’ve been lucky enough to photograph this year are newborn portraits. Photographing a child that’s just a few days old and seeing the love that the new parents have for the child is definitely one of those experiences that stays with you forever. Ultimately I also get to see the child grow from a newborn to a toddler. Knowing that my portraits will grace the walls of my clients for many years is one of the most fulfilling things that a professional photographer can experience. Having been a photographer in Geelong for many years now, occasionally you also see those newborns out and about with their parents as primary school students!! Where does the time go? Here I want to share with you an image from a portrait session I photographed not long ago. Little Isla was only three days old when this was taken, so a new experience has begun in seeing her grow. I have not long introduced a new product into my range. Something that’s fairly unique to each family because it can be stylised to suit their own taste. As you may know, all of my Art Books are hand made in Italy, so I wanted a product that would give people something more than a wall portrait. I now have available my new Baby Book. It can be designed from one portrait session or, as a few of my clients have chosen to do, design it over the course of multiple sessions. It’s a bit difficult to grasp the concept of the Baby Book, so you are more than welcome to visit the studio and have a look for yourself. You can also register your details Here to receive an invitation to the new product launch coming soon.

Geelong photographer- Wedding

This weeks wedding video is of Anthony and Jessica’s wedding. Their wedding took place in Geelong and, as you will see in the clip, some beautiful wedding portraits were captured in and around the Geelong waterfront. Even though it was quite a chilly day (It was June after all) the bridal party had a ball. A special thanks goes to Panache cafe who were kind enough to let us use their location for some photos of the bride and groom while the rest of the bridal party enjoyed a nice warm coffee! The wedding ended with the couple celebrating their reception at Capri receptions in North Geelong. I hope you enjoy this video that captures their wedding day.

Christmas Specials 2014

It’s Christmas Specials time!! Originally I had allocated 30 portrait sessions for the Christmas specials, but 11 were filled prior to the release, so only 19 spots remain. Once they’re taken, that’s it. I pride my studio on photographing quality over quantity. So, as part of the specials this year, you will receive a free sitting, free Christmas cards and a $50 voucher for you to give to someone as a present. In other words, not only will you be having your portraits taken, you’re doing your Christmas shopping at the same time!! Plus, one lucky family will win a 16×24″ wall portrait valued at $600 as part of their order. If that’s not the best deal in Geelong, then I don’t know what is! 😉 You can book in for a family portrait, newborn or child portraits, a maternity portrait or a glamour portrait. Please find all the details below and feel free to Contact the studio Here to make a booking or for any enquiries. If you have already booked a session prior to the specials, you will automatically receive them when you come in.  Like I said though, spots are limited and the special will end once all places are filled or on the 31st of December.  Don’t forget you can always join us on Facebook to stay up to date with all the happenings at the studio.

Geelong photographer-Rebecca & Tim’s wedding

When people think wedding photography in Geelong, they automatically think of the waterfront. Truth is, that’s just the tip of the iceberg with stunning locations in and around the town. Rebecca and Tim’s wedding took place just out of Geelong in Little River, and what a stunning location they chose! The spot had everything, beautiful open landscapes, a home that was just stunning for their wedding portraits and a bridal party that just wanted to have fun. At the end of the day, we all had a ball and, as this short video of their wedding album shows you, we ended up with some amazing photography that they will now treasure for the rest of their lives. Rebecca and Tim now have a gorgeous little girl who I have been fortunate enough to also photograph. I can only imagine what Matilda will one day say when she see’s her mummy and daddy’s wedding album!!

Geelong photography Fathers Day

Did someone say fathers day?? Didn’t we just celebrate Christmas the other day! Obviously not. Before you know it, Spring will be here and we’ll start seeing all the Christmas specials in all the shop windows. But, before all that happens, we have fathers day. This year, there will be a limited time special on Fathers day portraits.  $25 is all it will cost to have your family portrait taken and that also includes a designed 8×10″ print as part of your final order. Normally you’d expect to pay just over $200 for all this, but until the 3oth of August, you can book in for just $25. There are a limited number of spots available so to secure your spot, give the studio a call on 52 77 2221. Because of the limited numbers, the $25 needs to be paid when booking. New for 2014

I would absolutely LOVE to tell you all right now what I’m working on, but I’m keeping it very close to my chest at the moment, at least until it’s perfected anyway! Should I give you a clue? Ok, it involves portraits and to be a bit more specific, baby and children’s portraits. I really have my wife to thank for this idea though so I can’t really take all the credit myself. We were having a discussion last night about something that happened at work. She said something and I had a light bulb moment. The best thing about it is that it’ll be timeless and yet still very much affordable. I wasn’t going to post anything about it yet, but it is exiting so I just had to write something on here about it! To the best of my knowledge, this particular product isn’t available to this degree in Geelong, which makes it even more exiting! Stay tuned and if you or one of your friends is looking for some very different portraiture, then don’t forget to either keep an eye on my blog or like my Facebook page.

Merry Christmas

Is it me or has this year just flown? It seems just yesterday that I was wishing everyone a Merry Christmas last year. Anyway, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all my clients, past, present and future. I’ve been very fortunate to be able to work with many amazing people who appreciate fine photography. It’s always such a huge sense of fulfilment when a couple pick up their wedding album or a family picks up their portraits. I’ll be taking a few days off over the Christmas and New Year period, but I’ll still be out scouting some new locations in and around Geelong as I have some new ideas that I’m working on for both weddings as well as portraits. There’s also something new coming for past clients in 2014.  So if you’re a past client, even from 15 years ago, keep an eye out on my Facebook or Google+ pages in early 2014.  So now I’d like to wish all my clients, friends and followers of my blog and other social media pages a very Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous 2014. Riccardo
